While the film will likely garner attention for the explicit sex scenes between Adele and Emma (the movie has an NC-17 rating), it's an incredibly mature, deliberate, and heartbreaking work with an astonishing performance from Exarchopoulos. ![]() ![]() The film won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival (the festival's top prize), and for the first time it was awarded not only to the director ( Abdellatif Kechiche), but the two lead actresses as well. The movie centers on Adele ( Adèle Exarchopoulos), a young woman who begins to discover her sexuality and eventually falls in love with the alluring Emma ( Léa Seydoux). IFC Films has released the trailer for Blue Is the Warmest Color.
